Excellent feel on the drum heads and the cymbals. The module is great for this price, and the sound is realistic and nuanced. It takes up less space that a full drum kit, and the build quality is good. The size and sound level produced make it a good option for apartments where noise complaints are a concern. Definitely recommend this kit.

This the best electric drum kit I have ever owned, and I started out with a Roland TD12! The quality of the set is primo and there are many assembly options to get the pieces positioned just right. The brain has a very user-friendly touch screen format. It takes a while to sort out how the various functions work, like adding different percussion rim shots to all the toms (sound amazing when completed!), but it was well worth the time and effort. I can change parameters on the fly by highlighting the screen and turning the knobs at the bottom of the touch screen. This kit has the best sounding 14″ snare of any electric kit I have played. I play many different genres, from rock to jazz to Broadway, and I can always get the sound I need. Highly recommended!

What can I say, this kit is just downright amazing! I’ve had it for a few months now and play it most days. I have added an additional Splash cymbal and Mapex double kit, everything works perfectly. The kit selection is great and everything can be modified. I can connect my phone / ipad via bluetooth. I also use an iRig which allows me to easily record sessions using my phone. Best kit out there for this value!

I have been playing acoustic drums for 45 years. I held off on buying electric drums for all of these years simply because I never was comfortable playing on them. I was always disappointed in the way they felt and sounded, so I just stayed away from them and stuck to playing acoustic drums…. Until now! I must admit after watching several videos of reviews from many other drummers I decided to look into the Alesis strata prime. I now am the proud owner of my first e-kit and I am not the least disappointed. I took my time calibrating each drum and made sure the mesh heads were tuned before I started playing. I made the right decision buying the Strata Prime and I’m impressed with the sound and feel of the kit.

Packaging was a bit beat up on arrival, but I know this thing is huge and awkward to carry. Glad everything was operational and nothing was missing. Kit looks great and sounds great with many options and expandability. Triggering the hats is a bit unnatural if you open and close them quickly as I often do. The sound sample at the cymbal gets cut off instead of turning into a “chk” sound when I close with the foot pedal. Maybe i didn’t calibrate them well. Factory kits are all playable “out of the box”, but the volume levels need adjustment for the individual pieces. I will load a kit and usually have to raise the volume/response from the hats and kick, balance the toms, etc. I’m living in an apartment and trying to make everything quiet as I can for the neighbors sake. Hopefully no noise complaints.

Amazing, easy to set up, sounds great and plays well. Hi hat stand, kick pedal and throne sold separately.

This absolutely exceeded what I thought it would be! I’ve been drumming over 50 years, and this is absolutely amazing. Great value for the price.

I bought the Strata Core to replace an older Alesis kit (rubber pads, had it for 11 years), and so far it’s been a revelation. It’s been only a couple of weeks, and I haven’t played around with everything the kit has to offer, but I love the tunable mesh heads–the dynamics are really nice, and they feel much more like real drum heads than the old rubber pads did.
The cymbals are also a huge upgrade–both in feel and sound–and the hi-hat is really responsive, with more varied playing surfaces. I can get a true “chick-tick” out of it. With some kit modules I find the ride cymbal a little washy, but apparently you can mix and match with other kits to dial in the sound and tone you want. I need to play around more with this.
Initial setup requires some patience and involves some trial and error, but I appreciate the flexibility of the rack and the way the individual drums can be adjusted for height and positioning. The module has 75 kits to choose from, and you can plug in a phone or other device to help you play along with songs. You can also output sound to headphones or an amp.
Overall I’m really happy with the kit. It’s reinvigorated my playing and my practice routines. It’s not cheap, but then again it’s a lot less expensive than the Strata Prime, and I feel like a beginner to intermediate drummer (like me) will get really good value out of the Strata Core without feeling like they’re missing out on anything.
Note that it doesn’t come with a kick pedal, a hi-hat stand, or a throne, so you’ll have to buy those separately if you don’t already have them.

Bought Dec 24, Every single ARC Cymbal has failed an had to be warrantied. The rest of the kit it ok, does need some settings tinerkering to get everything working. The build quality on the cymbals is bad quality, expect to warranty or buy a few packs peizo discs and be ready to fix it yourself within 6 months

There is a HUM sound coming from the audio output jacks on the module as well as through both the 1/4″ and 1/8″ headphone jacks. The HUM gets very loud when turning up your PA, AMP, Powered speakers Etc. However, the volume on the Core module even at 0 does not stop or lower the HUM. It happens on all kits and is constant. Here is what i’ve tried:
Different outlet for power. Same outlet for powering Module and speakers etc. Updated firmware to latest. Rebooted multiple times. Factory reset multiple times. Tried diferent cables, balanced, unbalanced. Made sure nothing else was plugged in. Turned off WiFi, Turned off Bluetooth. Nothing works!
I submitted a ticket to Alesis to to see what they’re going to do. It’s very annoying considering this is a brand new set and I haven’t even been able to play it yet.
