A little bit of a learning curve but it’s worth it! It definitely improved my catch count exponentially! No more guessing where the structure is! Couldn’t recommend more.

So far I’m loving it. Very easy install on the trolling motor. Very simple menu system will have you on the water in minutes. It starts up pretty much instantly unlike my Lowrance. Large screen is very bright and clear. Side view is interesting. Not sure how much I’ll use it in our lake, but did find a sunk boat I didn’t know about. Overall very nice. I don’t need charts on our inland lakes, so saving several hundred over the chart versions from Lowrance, Hummingbird, and Garmin was fine with me. The Quickdraw feature is getting a workout mapping our lake where commercial charts don’t exist anyway.

This item does not perform as the seller presented the functions. It is supposed to be side imaging and the screen on one side shows a mirror image of the other side so they look identical. When you can see an object in the water such as a log or reeds it does not show up on the screen as if nothing is there. The screen will show that the water depth is say 30 feet deep but the screen is showing fish at 50 and 60 feet. It has not worked since it was first hooked up. I would like to know what my options are at this point.

This Garmin fish finder works great when properly installed. We went out today on Dale Hollow Lake and it showed the bottom, logs, rocks, fish, temp, time …all very accurate…We looked forever before choosing this one and I’m happy as can be…

Great fish finder. Love, LOVE the down and side imaging. Easy to use and a very bright screen.
Be aware there is NO CHART PLOTTER. It has GPS so you can add waypoints and find your way back to them but no plotter. I use a chart plotter app on my phone and I like that better and it’s far cheaper than buying a lake card.
Personally I think this is a good value even without the chart plotter. I have found no other fish finder that has side imaging for close to this price.
I bought 2 of these. I put one on the helm and was so happy with it that I bought one for the trolling motor.
The down imagine is so clear that at times I can see individual fish chasing my bait or lure. This fish finders have definitely increased my catch rate by a large percentage.
Anyway, I highly recommend this unit. For the money, it’s the best value if you can live without a plotter.

Setup was pretty straightforward. There are great videos on YouTube showing how to install a side scan transducer properly. Watch them if you aren’t sure what you’re doing! My first trip out, I didn’t get much on the side scan, but I think I had the transducer set too high. It was also a grassy lake. I adjusted the transducer a bit lower and changed the angle a bit, and when I hit my local reservoir I could see the rock jetty at the launch, sunken trees and brush piles, and bottom composition changes very clearly. I’m still learning to use the gps as far as setting waypoints, but so far it’s been useful. It’s a pleasant surprise to have a good quality side scan at this price. 2d sonar and down scan screens are solid as expected. Shame I can’t link my navionics app from my phone to the garmin instead of using active captain, which I find makes navigating more complicated when the sun is so bright I can’t see the app screen on my phone.
